★So how’s everybody’s Ag projects doing? Are they growing good and are you learning a lot? We hope the answer is yes, and we’ve had a lot of fun stocking and re-stocking even more show supplies, from pig whips to veterinary grade trimmers, high-tech feeds, grooming, presentation, and training and vet items. The store is full up, ready for you to grab round two of everything you’re short of, and anything you need to take your project to the next step in good shape.

★Even though we’re all fired up about the first part of September coming along, the grass still thinks that it’s late August after being cut so many times, so we suggest you fertilize one last go round with a straight nitrogen fertilizer, a 21-7-14. Yall might want to throw in a good pre-emergent weed killer to round things out, too. At the same time, first week of September, a tad before labor day is a good time to get started with Fall gardens, potting soil, mulches, fertilizers, first class cold crop vegetable seeds and Bonnie starter plants. But the Fall rain is still going to be a ways off, so stop by our display of sprinklers to suit any watering program, and remember, it’s always good to have a spare garden hose, we’ve got them, and at a better rate in the big box place.
